Sonya Reid’s real estate journey began at just 13 years old, working as a Saturday receptionist at John W. Carroll Real Estate in Mt Druitt back in 1984. As a fourth-generation member of a longstanding family legacy, she was immersed in the industry from day one—absorbing its rhythms and building a foundation of trust, service, and perseverance that would guide her career for decades.
After finishing school, Sonya joined Century 21 Carroll Combined Real Estate full time, determined to honour her family’s tradition of excellence. She quickly advanced from receptionist to Property Officer and ultimately to Property Manager, mastering every aspect of agency operations—from conducting property inspections and negotiating leases to handling tenant approvals and personally mailing landlord cheques each month.
With 18 years of agency experience under her belt, Sonya expanded her horizons by joining her sister’s business, Handy Investor. As a Spending Mentor and Investment Property Manager, she led a team of five, partnering with investors to prepare new acquisitions for rent and oversee granny-flat builds—strategies designed to boost rental income and deliver outstanding returns.
